Welcome to IGCMA

The Irish Golf & Club Managers Association represents professional club managers in the Golf, Tennis, Yachting, Leisure and Dining Club sectors across the island of Ireland since 1968.

The IGCMA was formed as a result of a merger between the Irish Association of Golf Club Secretaries (IAGCS) and the Irish Region of the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) in 2010. The IAGCS was first established in 1968 and the CMAE Irish Region in 2003. The merger was welcomed by all professional managers and the IGCMA has now become the single voice for the Club management profession in Ireland.

This single membership gives the benefits of professional education, social & networking opportunities, as well as membership of international bodies such as the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) and the Golf Club Managers Association GCMA (UK). If you are not currently a member of the association and wish to find out more about the benefits of becoming a member please see our Member Benefits Section.

Our primary function is to be the leader in educating our members in all aspects of club management. We do this through participation in CMAE’s Management Development program (MDP) which leads to the coveted Certified Club Manager Designation (CCM). Members can also access the GCMA Education program. Members can travel to CMAA’s World Conference on Club Management, along with CMAE’s European Conference.

We currently host a bi-monthly ZOOM session for all our members on current issues brought on by the COVID 19 situation.

Meeting with fellow managers is part and parcel of what we have done up to now, as networking is such an important part of learning from your peers. In 2020, ZOOM has replaced that opportunity.

We have also lost our international networking aspect, to play golf against our sister associations, the SGCMA, GCMA and NIGCMA. Hopefully, this will return in due course.

We regularly issue newsletters and emails to communicate with our members. This year we have launched our ClubNet App and revamped our website and these will be the prime sources of imparting information. We also communicate any offers from our valued sponsors and other industry partners that would be interest.
